The issue is that when I brought them home and actually put one on to wear outside I quickly realized my error. I have no bras to wear with them. I have numerous bras, in fact I own one of those La Senza bras that does up 5 different ways. And not one of the versions worked with the shirts. I don’t think I can explain in words what the shirts look like so I found a picture that is pretty close to how the neckline is.
Exhibit A:

Banana Republic Petite Linen Braided Halter Tank
My shirts are a bit darker, are not as see-through, and have a much prettier halter neckline. But hopefully you get the idea.
These are perfect to wear to work under a light cardi, and if I wear it that way I don’t have to worry about the bra strap issue because the cardigan will cover it.
My issue is for wearing it during the summer when I’m just out and about.
Now I’m not what you would call large breasted or even average breasted. So I don’t need to wear a bra for support. But I just can't see myself wearing a shirt with my bra strap showing that much. And really my main concern is more with the issue of having my nipples show. Not so much so that you can actually see them, but you know what I mean.
The way I see it I have a few options:
1) I can go out to an actual lingerie store and see if they have something that will work. Maybe a strapless bra? Or some of those Lee Press-on “bras”.
2) Not wear a bra and let the men stare.
3) Wear the shirts with my bra strap showing.
4) Something I haven't thought of yet??
So this is where you come in.
What are your thoughts on women, well into their 30's, wearing shirts that clearly show the ladies off? Now we all know how Jennifer Aniston feels about this but I'm not so sure I'm on the same page.
What are your thoughts?

Gorgeous top!! You want a strapless bra, trust me. I own three (two black, one nude) and they are awesome.
ReplyDeleteFrom one small busted woman to another, I'd suggest wearing a strapless bra. That's what I wear when sporting a halter top. Or you can try one of those clear plastic bra straps, but I always thought they were a bit tacky.
ReplyDeleteStrapless bra would be the way to go. However, I think you could also go braless and it woulnd't be a big deal. You're perky enough to get away with it, and a little nip isn't the end of the world. :)
