2010: Goal #2

Spend more time outdoors.

When I lived back in Northern Ontario I spent most of my time outdoors, whether it was biking, hiking, walking, snowshoeing, or hanging out. It was easy, seeing that everyone knew the city inside and out and you could get anywhere in about a 30 min car ride. Hell you could be in the bush with no one in sight in less than that time.

Living here in Vancouver it seems to me that to get to dense woods it takes time and planning. Or maybe it just seems that way because I didn't grow up here and don't know most of the area. But I would like to work on that this year.

I'm just really tired of spending most of my weekends inside my apartment. Plus I would like to actually get some sort of tan this year. Vain I know but that's how I roll. :-)

Snowshoeing

I haven't done this since I was a kid. I absolutely LOVED being out in the cold and the snow, it was always so beautiful and peaceful. And now showshoeing is so much easier with all of this advanced technology ~ good-bye huge awkward snowshoes!

Hiking

Hiking is something that I have done a few times but would love to do more often. Vancouver and the surrounding areas are absolutely breathtaking and the difficulty level can vary so much with this.

Running

Last year around this time I started running with Wendy and lasted 10 weeks. While it was very hard physically for me, I loved it while I was doing it. I'd really love to start this again.

Camping

We go camping for one weekend each summer but James and I have been wanting to do this more. I would love for us to go for a full week; just the two of us. But with me only getting 3 weeks of holidays this makes it a bit difficult.
