crafty?

This weekend has not turned out as I hoped it would. I had huge crafty plans to finally paint some furniture; namely a small bookshelf and table, and eventually a larger table and a cabinet. I've been meaning to paint these items for a few years now and so I finally walked over to my neighbourhood hardware store to buy some primer, paint and supplies.

But let me tell you; painting a bookshelf when you have not painted anything before is H.A.R.D. It has not gone smoothly and doesn't look like it will get done for a few days. It doesn't help that it has rained a bit and the only room I have is my balcony.

But it will get done gosh darn it!!

And so last night in a fit of despair I ate a late (late) dinner and watched Twilight and New Moon. During which I knit up the most adorable baby hat** during a 2 hour stretch. This hat is the cutest and I can see myself knitting many more of these in the future. The only issue is that once I finished the hat I realized that I needed to make two pom poms for it.

Another thing I haven't done before.

So I have done my research and now I just need to take a big gulp and start making some pom poms. Don't worry I'm sure I will post pics!
