Well it's too late, tonight, to drag the past out into the light.

James and I love our Sundays. It's the one day of the week where no matter what happens we spend the day together. Some Sunday's we go out with other people. Some Sundays are spent doing chores. Other Sundays are spent doing nothing at all.

This past Sunday was a mixture of those and early on I knew I would need music to accompany me through the day. We haven’t used the music portion of our entertainment unit in months; due mainly to iTunes. But this Sunday I pulled out 5 cd’s, loaded them into the cd player and hit shuffle. The only 5 cd’s we both wanted were a mix of U2 (The Joshua Tree & Achtung Baby) and Sting (Ten Summoner's Tales, The Dream of the Blue Turtles & Mercury Falling).

I absolutely love how music plays such an integral part of our lives. These are albums we have been listening to for decades and the impact the songs have on us change depending on what is going on in our lives at that time.

This Sunday one particular song came on and made me stop knitting and catch my breath.

It doesn’t really matter to me what this song means to the band, or why they wrote it (although it’s a pretty interesting read), just that the words hit home right now.

So beautiful.

Lyrics alone are never as impactful as the song itself, so here are a bit of the lyrics and the song

Did I disappoint you? Or leave a bad taste in your mouth? You act like you never had love and you want me to go without. Well it's too late tonight to drag the past out into the light. We're one, but we're not the same. We got to carry each other carry each other. One.

Have you come here for forgiveness? Have you come to raise the dead? Have you come here to play Jesus? To the lepers in your head. Did I ask too much? More than a lot. You gave me nothing, now it's all I got. We're one but we're not the same. Well we hurt each other then we do it again.

You say Love is a temple, Love a higher law. Love is a temple, Love the higher law. You ask me to enter but then you make me crawl. And I can't keep holding on to what you got when all you got is hurt.
