Finished Project: Pretty hat for me

I finally knit myself a hat that not only looks great but that I really like. This knit up pretty easy. I was surprised how simple cables are. Many people had told me that they were not as complicated as they looked but I was still a little skeptic. I am now looking through my queued items as this opens a whole slew of patterns for me.

Yay!

Pattern: Hermione's Cable and Eyelet Hat
Yarn: Patons Classic Wool in Royal Purple
Needles: 3.5 mm using magic loop, then 3.25 dpn to finish last 2 rows
Mods: None. Although next time I want to try making the brim shorter.
My Ravelry Page.

I love how simple this pattern is and how quickly it knit up. Definitely going to keep this in mind for any gifts I might need to knit up.

I ended up knitting the child's size hat. And like most other patterns I've knit for myself I end up having to knit the small version. This pattern calls for only 1 repeat of the cable pattern for a child and 2 repeats for an adult. It's a bit snug but if I had knit the adult it would have been much too large for me. And I do like my hats snug. Although if I end up growing my hair out I don't think this will fit anymore. But then I'll have a great excuse to knit another one.
