I finished my Inside Out cowl and while I really like how it turned out and I did learn a few things while knitting this; I am considering this a failure.
Mainly because the cowl is H-U-G-E on me. As in, while it's on, I can wrap it around my neck.
Now I'm still learning when it comes to yarn and patterns so I am happy that I finally tried knitting in the round. In fact it was quite enjoyable. But I think the lady at the yarn store recommended me the wrong yarn. I’ve never knit a cowl before so I get it that the pattern said that gauge isn’t necessarily important. But really our yarns are very different. And I really should try stuff on first before I cut my yarn.
Grrr.
And now I have to decide if I want to wear this as ornamental only, or tink the whole thing and cast on about 20 stitches less to actually get it snug enough against my neck and face. I am however not looking at this as a waste of time, because as I said earlier I did learn things and the next pattern I do will hopefully be more successful.
