Real websites vs Google Reader

I go through phases where I find lots of new websites that inspire me, and I will read a ton over a few weeks. But generally I have my tried and true favourites that I keep going back to.

A few months ago I discovered Google Reader (I know, I'm kind of late in the game.) and while I love being able to categorize all the different sites I go to and having them all in one convenient place; I've come to miss going to the actual websites themselves. There is just something about all of the colour, the widgets, and the extras that I really miss.

I guess essentially it’s the blogger’s personality that their website has that Google Reader is lacking. And so I have been finding myself questioning which is the better of two evils. Do I want the simplicity that is Google Reader and only having to click one tab in my Favourites? Or do I want the soul of the blogger and have to click a bunch of different buttons on my Favourites bar?

Decisions. Decisions.
