New Challenges That I Actually Want.

Each year I give myself new goals to work towards in terms of my hobbies.

For the past two years my goal in reading is to read 50 books in a year. 2008 I only 28 books, which is such a sad number. But this year I have read 39 and will hopefully reach my goal. Although this does mean that I will need to read 11 books in two months. This will be a real challenge but I feel I am up to the task.

My new goal this year was to watch 100 movies in 2009. I successfully reached this goal now at mid-October. One of the main reasons is that we usually watch a movie with dinner on most nights. Now that I don't need to reach this goal I am going to move towards reading a book while eating dinner. We'll see if this helps me accomplish my reading goal.

And now for 2010 I would like to add a goal in regards to knitting. At first I wanted to challenge myself to knit x amount of projects for the year. But then I thought maybe it would be better to learn x amount of new knitting techniques. This way I would be knitting lots of projects as well as learning more as the year progresses. Maybe I'll do something even more creative and challenge myself to knit something for each part of the human body. Then I will finally be able to take the plunge and knit up a sweater, some socks and even real gloves.

Will have to ponder this some more....

And speaking of knitting; isn't the wool in my picture just gorgeous!! It just came in the mail last night and I can't wait to whip myself up a couple of pairs of Alice Mittens in time for the New Moon premier. And yes I'm a Twifan something fierce.

  1. Thanks so much for posting a photo of the yarn. I'm so glad to hear that you like it. And 100 movies a year? That is my idea of heaven. Good luck!
