There is a market in our neighbourhood that has a few shelves of international “candy”. Mostly yummy goodness from the UK; lots of kinds of caramels and licorice. They of course also have lots of different kinds of chocolate goodness but since I met the chocolate assassin and can’t eat chocolate I pretty much ignored those shelves. That is until one day when I was waiting in line and a woman walking past that aisle literally screamed “TIM TAMS!!! OMG YOU CARRY TIM TAMS!!!” and promptly scooped up all 6 packages.
I had never heard of Tim Tams but I was quick to make a mental note and the next time I went in I bought a pack for James. I did manage to sneak one and boy was it delicious. But again because I am not supposed to eat chocolate I have been forced to not have any more.
So imagine my surprise when, at the beginning of Blogtoberfest, I stumbled across a website and saw a post with a picture of white chocolate Tim Tam’s. Now there was something I could enjoy. I made a comment on my grief of not being able to eat chocolate and wanting to try and find somewhere in Canada that carries the white chocolate version (yah good luck Melanie!). And much to my surprise Cindy emailed me and offered to mail me my very own pack.
It arrived safely at my doorstep a few days ago all the way from Australia. And boy are they delicious!! Especially with my favourite tea.
I just love the kindness of strangers. And maybe it’s a good thing that I can’t get my hands on these all the time. I think my waistline would suffer. :)
