It took me a bit longer than I would have liked only because I didn't have the time to just sit down and work on these. But I finally finished them and they were so easy!
James loves them and the yarn he picked out. The Lion Brand Fisherman Wool is authentic 100% pure virgin wool with natural lanolin oil in it. It’s super soft and yet has little bits of material in it, like little twigs. It will sure keep him toasty warm.
Next I am planning on taking the plunge and teaching myself to use circular needles and double pointed needles and will knit up a
Jacques Cousteau Hat to match.
I have a list of about 5 different hat possibilities for James but when he saw the Jacques Cousteau hat he just looked at me and said “Come on!!”. Ya, I knew he would pick that one hands down.
New knitting techniques I learned with this project:
- knitting into the front and back of a stitch
- the proper way to do a mattress stich
