But the other night I discovered Ravelry.com and I have become obsessed. There are so many yummy things that I want to start creating. Most of them involve simple patterns that are made to keep your different parts warm and snuggly during the colder months. I really need to get my butt to a yarn store so that I can start nesting for the hibernation months. I have always thought that there is something so calming and healing about knitting. I think that this will really help me with my healing.
For James:
Garter Fingerless Mittens
Last night while watching Sweeny Todd, James stated that he loved Johnny Depp’s fingerless mittens. It gets pretty cold in our little apartment in the winter and these would be perfect for James. So a quick search on Ravelry came up with these little gems. Perfect!!
For Me:
Last Hurray Scarf
I have always wanted a huge snuggly scarf to wear. Although it doesn’t get that cold here in Vancouver but I do love the look and feel of these chunky scarves. Now I just need to get my hands on some super bulky yarn.
Hug by Jennifer Thurston
The name of this shrug is perfect. I love love love this!!
I haven’t been able to find a really great hat pattern for myself yet. With my short hair I want to knit up a bunch of different hats but everything I am finding is a bit too “practical” for me.
I have however found lots of super cute baby hats!
Perfect Fit Baby Hat
I will probably make lots of these. Too cute!!

I love those fingerless mittens!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see a post from you. You've been in my thoughts...
You've been in my thoughts too Mel. I've instructed my sis to give you a big hug from me when she sees you next... cuz sometimes the gods are just plain mean, the wee little shits.
ReplyDeleteAt the risk of enabling you further, have you taken a gander at http://twistcollective.com/ or http://www.knitty.com ?
have fun!
